‘We Are Southside’ exhibition by Iranian artist in residence Laleh Sherkat. A night of photography, poetry, projection art, music and food, the launch will celebrate the cultural diversity of the neighbourhood and the people that live in it. Laleh’s photography captures the many different communities that make the Southside their home. Laleh Sherkat is an acclaimed Iranian photographer and photo journalist.  She is renowned for being the first woman to document the Iran-Iraq war and female prisoners in Iran.  She is a founding member of the Iranian Photography Society and has juried and curated many photography exhibitions and competitions in Iran and Scotland.
